Helping People Grow in Stewardship

One million books in print. 4,000 churches helped. Thousands of people becoming generous and cheerful givers. What is the common thread? The passion God put in Kregg Hood’s heart to help His Church.

Kregg has a doctorate in Instructional Communication from Texas Tech University in addition to master’s degrees in missions and preaching. His undergrad majors were Bible, mathematics, and biblical languages. Kregg’s vision to help people grow in stewardship has greatly benefitted the Body of Christ.

Kregg speaks at churches and conferences across the country and writes for many Christian media outlets. He has also taught graduate level marketing and public relations courses at Evangel University as an adjunct professor.

Kregg and his family make their home near Springfield, Missouri. He is available for speaking engagements and private consultation services for churches and pastors.

Kregg’s Purpose

“God’s people are poised to really experience the impact of biblical and Holy Spirit-empowered truth about money. Our world needs God’s wisdom as never before. As we learn to better model the Lord’s plan, we will be salt and light to millions. God is on our side and He will always bless us when we trust Him and His promises.” – Dr. Kregg Hood

Endorsements

Money, or the lack thereof, need not stress you any more. I whole-heartedly commend Dr. Hood’s work to you. I have known and worked with him for two decades. His mathematical training, seminary study, and years of pastoral work uniquely qualify him to address the issue of debt.”

The time that you spent with us along with your book and the sermon series was one of the most productive things that we have done to prepare the hearts of our people to give. The key to the success is the partnership with your ministry team encouraging our church. Your secretarial staff, the book, the sermon series, and the weekend with you were truly a spiritual experience.”

Dr. Harvey Whaley

Garner, North Carolina

Here are some amazing facts: our weekly budget increased 40% over the previous year, and that is huge under any circumstances. Here’s the most exciting part – our actual giving has increased 167% over last year. I am excited beyond belief.”

David N. Rutherford

Clovis, California

Our experience with the Take God at His Word campaign was extraordinary. Our weekly budget was exceeded by an average of $5,500 weekly during the four weeks of emphasis from the classroom, pulpit, and home study. We kept emphasizing that we were trying to build bigger people, not bigger budgets, and the Lord blessed us.”

Garland, Texas

Besides the dollars, we have had many intangible results that I consider much more important. A twenty-something man in our congregation who is a relatively new Christian wrote to us ‘The book you gave to us has been just excellent. God has really talked to me lately about my relationship with Him. That book has not only talked to me about my financial giving, but also about the submission of my life. Thank you! Praise God!’

Gayle Crowe

Lafayette, Indiana

Fantastic! Last week our contribution was $5,000 over budget, and this week over $1,000 over budget! [Take God at His Word] has been an encouragement and challenge to my faith and giving.”

Allen Mann

Equipping Minister, West Orange Church of Christ

Dr Kregg Hood is a great gift to the body of Christ! He is a recognized national leader, with gifts and resources to assist with stewardship issues; he is a pastor at heart with an incredible passion to help ministers and churches grow in their stewardship capacity; he is a person of great integrity, who knows what it means to take God at His Word, and, is committed to helping others do the same. I highly recommend the works and person of Kregg Hood.”

Douglas E. Clay

General Treasurer of the Assemblies of God

West Houston recently completed a four-week sermon series on stewardship and we used Kregg’s material as the backbone of our study. The results have been life-changing and life-giving for our church. We have experienced a significant increase in our giving and God is working in a powerful way in the hearts and lives of our people. I highly recommend Take God at His Word as a resource if you are planning a series on stewardship in the near future.”

Brian Offutt

Senior Minister, West Houston Church of Christ

The results were immediate and astounding. Our monthly giving for March was approximately 40% over the giving for the same month in the previous year. Giving continued at a record pace throughout the remainder of the year (concluding in December), with one month giving $22,000 over the monthly budget!”

Steve LaFarge

Pasco, Washington

Simple statistical data is impressive, but hardly begins to tell the whole story. Our church experienced a great spiritual growth that has affected virtually every area of our church life, including finances, through the use ofTake God at His Word. Volunteerism is up, giving is up, and a sense of positive unity is up as we have been learning to Take God at His Word together.”

Larry Chapman

Blue Springs, Missouri

I continue to be amazed, not only at the initial success of the series, but that the increased giving continues. A 35% increase is incredible! Our elders are pumped! Our staff is encouraged! I have actually had members asking me to preach on giving more often!”

Bud Ross

Ada, Oklahoma

I have enjoyed Kregg Hood’s book. This was the best study on stewardship that I have ever seen. I am convinced that it is a blessing to give and that we can’t out give God.”

Fred Heath

The focus of Take God at His Word and the preaching program is on God’s Word and His promises to those who faithfully apply His principles. This approach is positive, practical, and helps to remove anxiety. It actually makes you want to give!”

Dr. Gary Allen

Executive Editor, Enrichment Journal

The actual total dollars increase in budgeted giving since initiating Take God at His Word has been $189,617. To say that we are pleased with the results of this stewardship effort would be an understatement. I can whole heartedly recommend this stewardship biblical study. The Lord has blessed way beyond our greatest expectations.”

Phil Qualls

Apex, North Carolina

Our membership responded generously! What I was most excited about is that we have an increase of about 20% that will be tithing for the very first time. Anytime God’s people make a commitment to take a deeper walk of faith, God blesses in ways far beyond our comprehension.”

Robin Hart

Wadsworth, Ohio

We gave a book to every member in our congregation. All of this was done in a rush, because of a last-minute decision on my part to use the program. In spite of this, our offerings are up over $5,000 a Sunday. I’m sold on Dr. Hood’s approach and find myself wondering what would have happened if I had used the material exactly according to the plan. I’m convinced the offerings would be even larger.”

Ben Merold

St. Charles, Missouri

Having the book From Debt to Life as a practical help for the people as they left the weekend services was a great way to encourage our members.  Knowing they left with a resource in their hands that gave them step-by-step guidance to face their debt, create a budget, and a plan to start eliminating debt was a comfort to us on the pastoral staff. The greatest part of the weekend was knowing we were giving hope to families who feel discouraged because of their personal financial situation as well as hearing about our current economic situation night after night. Thanks for providing hope to families by reminding us all that God is always ready to help as we place God’s financial principles in our life!”
